- to promote community awareness of the needs of the gifted and talented
- to facilitate the provision of appropriate education for the gifted and talented. To cooperate with the Education Department and other educational bodies in ensuring that every student is encouraged to develop to his/her potential
- to promote the inclusion of relevant courses on the gifted and talented in programs for the training and further education of teachers and other educational administrators, guidance officers and other relevant personnel
- to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information about education between parents and others interested, and to assist with the dissemination of such information
- to maintain contact with similar organisations within Australia and overseas
- to seek representation on all policy making bodies in matters pertaining to the aims and objectives
